Testing the latest offerings on the market is something a lot of journalists do these days but few of them take a closer look at what tuners have in store and even fewer judge what advantages they bring to the table instead of dismissing them straight away. One of those guys is Matt Farah.

On his YouTube channel, Farah is now testing cars offered by his viewers for reviewing purposes and we’ve seen lately some interesting BMWs. From this Z3 M to an E30 with a S54 engine, his channel has some nice hidden jewels here and there. Last week, he went for a ride aboard an insanely powerful M3.

The car you’re about to see in the video below is an E93 M3 that was supercharged with a VF Engineering kits and taken up to about 620 HP. That’s an increase of almost 50 percent compared to what the S65 4-liter V8 used to make as standard and you can feel it all the way, if we’re to believe what Matt is saying.

The gearbox is a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch unit that can handle that kind of power easily and also offers crisp, sharp shifts. On top of that, according to Juliano, the owner of the car, the M3 Convertible also has a Remus exhaust that really brings out the character of the V8. As you’re about to notice, this thing sounds great, even with the roof on.

Another important upgrade done to this car was the KW V3 adjustable coilovers set brought in to make sure the 4,000 lbs of the convertible are kept in check, and closer to the ground by roughly 1 inch.

The VF Engineering VF620 supercharger kit costs $8,995. That’s great value and, as you’re about to see, isn’t an overkill for the chassis.
