And there goes a brand-new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires….

At the international media launch of the new BMW M2, a professional BMW racing driver – we weren’t unable to identify who was behind the wheel – has given journalists a burn out sessions aboard the M2. The footage below shows the M2 drifting around an ///M display before finishing strong with some serious burn outs.

The iconic Laguna Seca is currently hosting the press drives of the M2 where BMWBLOG already had the chance to track the new M2.

The M2’s 370 hp 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 makes it devilishly fast, getting from 0-60 in just over four seconds and its 343 lb-ft of torque (369 lb-ft for temporary overboost) allows it to roast its rear tires on command. The M2 looks great, it’s incredible fun and amazingly fast on the race track.

And judging by this video, it’s also a fun drifting machine.
