BMW is planning on making 700 total of the M4 GTS. The United States market was left out of previous special editions such as the E92 M3 GTS, but this time BMW is making sure they get here and making sure they get into the hands of enthusiasts by vetting the last 150 cars to be delivered in the United States.

Unlike the first wave of M4 GTs that are going to a dealership to decide how to sell, this next round of cars goes to hand picked, hardcore enthusiasts.

A team from BMW North America will screen applications from prospective buyers of the M4 GTS and decide whether or not they meet their idea of a true M and or race track driving enthusiasts. They will be looking at things that show motorsports background such as being a licensed club racer, owner of a Porsche 911 GT3, Mercedes-AMG GT or an M car.
