BMW’s first special i3 made its world debut last year at Los Angeles Auto Show. The fully electric car is designed for the U.S. market with only 50 units available and sold out in under an hour. The special BMW i3 Shadow Sport Edition features the Fluid Black paint color and comes with a new interior package – Deka World dark grey with blue highlights.

Another highlight of the special i3 was a sport-tuned suspension which allows for increased sportier handling and dampening settings.

But according to US dealers, the sport suspension is no longer included in the build of the vehicle due to an adjustment of ride height that is outside of certification requirements. Dealerships are informing the customers of the change which will result in a price reduction of $1,000 for a total MSRP of $46,4000.

The Shadow Sport Limited Edition includes 19” Light Alloy turbine wheels 428 w/all-season tires available. Also a first for the i3 U.S. models is the addition of a moonroof – a feature only available until now to European customers.
