Here is the first video of the BMW Z5 being tested in winter conditions. The short clip also gives us a glimpse at the engine sound of the Z5 prototype.
There is not enough footage to conclude whether this G29 Z5 is powered by a four or six cylinder engine, even though our sources say the 3.0 liter six-cylinder is very much so in the card for launch time. Same sources say the BMW Z5 will look terrific, following the classic roadster proportions, a huge hood, very elongated headlamps attached to the front kidneys to form the new visual identity of the Z models.
BMW’s Z4 replacement is built on an chassis co-developed with Toyota. Not only will the modular chassis underpin BMW’s Z5, but Toyota will likely use it for a reborn Supra flagship.
The soft-top, two-door model has already been labelled as a successor to the Z4 and is expected to be revealed some time in 2017.
