Four years later and the BMW 1M not only still holds a high value on the used cars market, but it is also considered of the most fun cars one can drive. The 1M Coupe is quick, playful, aggressive and laugh-out-loud fun to drive, and makes for a perfect track and drifting car.

Weighing less than 3,400 pounds, with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter in-line six delivering 340 hp and 332 pound-feet of torque – with brief overboost 27 lb-ft – and a six-speed manual transmission, the 1M Coupe is a hot little rocket.

A BMW 1M owner – Quang Tran – setup a drifting event in his hometown, Sydney, Australia, where over ten M cars showed up, four of them being 1Ms in different colors.

“I organised a private skid pan session for our Sydney M Car Muster members to have a Skid n Slide afternoon with Luke O’Neill and one-on-one coaching from one of my favourite driving instructors Molly Taylor (a professional rally driver),” Tran said.
“With just 10 cars to the skid pan to ourselves, we all had a fantastic time practicing car controls & drifting around. The scorching heat didn’t stop us from having an awesome time.”

And the photos seen here come to just prove that.
