If there ever was any doubt, the BMW E60 M5 with its V10 engine is one of the best M cars ever built and with one of the most impressive engine sounds. If you add an aftermarket Eisenmann Race Exhaust, things can only get better. The two BMW M5 cars shown in this video are both equipped with this German-engineered aftermarket exhaust system. Filmed somewhere in the Netherlands, the two M5 put a show – a little risky one – for the crowds. While the stunt is a bit cheesy in its own way, what’s important is the great naturally aspirated sound of that powerful V10 engine.
BMW E60 M5 features one of the best engines ever built by the M engineers – the S85 engine. This V10 in the BMW M5 was a technical marvel and has won multiple World Engine of the Year awards. It produces 373 kW (500 hp) and 520 Nm (380 lb-ft) of torque and, along with the transmission, was designed from scratch for the E60 M5.
The heavy power propels the M5 from 0 to 62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.7 seconds, making the high-performance sedan one of the fastest sedans of its time. The car was also touted as one of the best sounding BMWs of all time.
