Ralph Lauren, the quintessential American designer who built a fashion empire is stepping down from his post as chief executive of the Polo Ralph Lauren. One tidbit less known to the general public is that Lauren has one of the world’s most enviable car car collections. Bugattis, Alfa Romeos, Jaguars, McLarens, Porsches, Ferraris: He’s got them all, the majority of which he stores at his private estate in Katonah, New York.
At the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Lauren’s 1938 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic Coupé, Jean Bugatti has won World’s Most Prestigious Car Show. The car was valued at $40 million. He also owns a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, two Ferrari 250 Testa Rossas, three 1996 McLaren F1s, a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, a 1929 Blower Bentley, a Porsche 997 GT3 RS, a Bugatti Veyron, a 1930 Mercedes-Benz SSK “Count Trossi” (aka “The Black Prince”) a 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Mille Miglia, a Lamborghini Reventón and the rare Reventón Roadster.
