The new BMW M6 Competition Edition launched at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show with a choice of special exterior paint finishes, components manufactured from high-tech CFRP, exclusive leather upholstery with coordinated contrast stitching, and more distinctive touches besides.

The special M6 Coupe is being designed to commemorate the launch of the upcoming M6 GT3 racing car and it will be limited to 120 units worldwide. While in Frankfurt, we decided to take a closer look at the M6 Competition Edition with a Motorsport livery.

The new special edition model is available exclusively in the guise of the BMW M6 Coupe in conjunction with the Competition Package. This gives the 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology an output of 441 kW/600 hp and a peak torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), and when combined with the optional Driver’s Package allows the BMW M6 Coupe to reach a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).

In the U.S., BMW will offer the sporty coupe in Austin Yellow or Alpine White. The body kit gets a black chrome kidney grille, side gills and door handles, along with special M6 Competition badges. 20 inch M Double-Spoke Wheels in black give the car a sportier look than the standard model, while an M Performance Exhaust system offers that growl all the customers crave from an M car.

Optional GT stripes are also offered for those looking for an even more special look.

The MSRP is set at $157,000.
