This past weekend, Jay Baier of Turner Motorsport drove their BMW i8 up the Mt. Washington Auto road which is where the Mt. Washington Hillclimb “Climb to the Clouds” race takes place.

It’s an 8 mile mountain road that climbs to the top of the 6,288 ft summit which is home to the “World’s Worst Weather” and the highest peak in the Northeastern US. The Mount Washington Observatory recorded a windspeed of 231 MPH which was a world record up until 2009.

While it was 90 degrees and sunny at the bottom, the top was 50 degrees with 70 mph winds which made photos with the doors up incredibly hard! As far as we know, this is the first BMW i8 to ever climb that mountain so that makes this photoshoot even more special.
