At the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, BMW will launch a new color for the i3 family: Fluid Black. The beautiful black paint job has a bit more pop than the usual black colors and helps accentuate the interesting lines of the monobox i3. The black body color is combined with elements in Frozen Grey and BMW i blue.

The BMW i3 is available in Ionic Silver, Arravani Grey, Laurel Grey, Andesite Silver, Solar Orange and Capparis White.

BMW has sold 12,562 i3 and i8 models from January 1st to June 30th, 2015. Last year, over the same period of time, BMW sold 5,405 units, but the i3 wasn’t available worldwide. The “i” sales have not been broken down between the i3 electric vehicle and i8 plug-in hybrid sportscar.

Over 30,000 copies of the BMW i3 and BMW i8 have been sold since their market launch in late 2013. Even though the two innovative vehicles with carbon fiber passenger cell are still not available in all planned markets planned, the sales have been nothing short of positive. The fully planned market launch will be completed in August.

As we approach almost three years of i3 production, we expect more changes to come in 2016 to the electric BMW.

When will we see a Protonic Blue i3, including hood and roof? Or Banana Yellow? :-)

Finally! Maybe now I’ll buy one!

  3. Matt Stokes says:

To be honest I think BMW really missed a trick not offering more colours on the i3… and when I say colours, I mean colours, not whites, greys or blacks…
