A strange report comes from Greece where a BMW E60 5 Series ended up swimming in the sea.
What we believe happened here was the driver either confusing the brake pedal for the acceleration or the reverse gear for the drive gear, and in a split of a second the car moved forward ending up with its nose in the water.
Judging by footage below, the car is likely to have hydrolocked. An engine gets hydrolocked when it breathes water rather than air. This usually happens then the car drives into a pond, lake or river with the engine running.
So what’s the lesson learned here? Keep your car on the road and off the beach.
