I have yet to find a petrolhead that doesn’t like the BMW 1M. The small, agile and powerful coupe from the BMW has been tearing things up ever since it was introduced in 2011.
It features an unique beefed up exterior, great performance and a tuned up chassis that makes it ideal for the race track.
While BMW naming convention would have called the car the “M1”, the name “BMW 1 Series M Coupe” was used instead, to avoid confusion with the original BMW M1 – a supercar in its own right.
Under the hood, the BMW 1M Coupé uses a re-tuned version of the twin-turbocharged N54 engine which is used in various other models such as the 2011 BMW 335is. The 3.0 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo produces 340 PS (250 kW) at 5900 rpm and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) torque from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm. An overboost feature brings the total torque to 369 lb-ft (500 Nm).
The only available drivetrain is a six-speed manual gearbox with a limited slip differential. This gives the small 1M an impressive performance allowing it to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.3 seconds. The car comes with an electronically limited speed of 250km/h.
The BMW 1M is rare. It is so rare that now when you want to buy one, you will have to pay more than its showroom price back in 2011.
Total 6309 cars sold worldwide turning the 1M into a collector’s item. The 1M was highly praised by Jeremy Clarkson himself.
This owner wanted to make his BMW 1M stand out even more. ATT TEC installed a custom dark grey vinyl wrap, a rear spoiler and custom wheels. Made by ADV.1 Wheels, the ADV5.0 MV.2 CS line are painted in a matte black color and they are sized 20×9 in the front and 20×11 in the rear.
