As much as fun it is to drive it, the new BMW M4 Coupe can be quite dangerous if not handled properly. Since its introduction last year, we’ve seen a fair share of crashes (1, 2, 3) that occurred all over the world, but likely not as bad as this one from Germany.

According to a Facebook post, this M4 crash happened during a test drive when a 38-year old U.S. citizen and the passenger hit the ride of the road, spun off and went down a 50 meter-long glide hitting some trees before landing on its roof. The accident was cause by excessive speed and both passengers incurred multiple accident traumas.

An ambulance and helicopter arrived at the site and transported the two to the hospital. Their condition is currently unknown.

The M4 is one hell of a beast on the road and on the track, and we always advise for caution while driving it. Keeping the DSC on, and all the other safety features is imperative in a car with so much power and torque. We’re also glad to see that the M4 saved lives once again, a testament to its great construction and safety features.

Please be safe out there while you enjoy your new toy!

I wonder why this didnt happen earlier! Its such a beast, especially for American citizen who are not used to the speed or dont even do a real license where you learn to drive. But of course also for most Germans its not easy to handle a car like that ;)

The driver lives in Germany from what we heard, so I don’t think the lack of experience was the factor. Likely excessive speed. Still great to see the M4 saved lives.
