Along with the new 2016 BMW 7 Series, the next-generation ALPINA B7 will also premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. The latest spy photos from Germany show a near-production ready test mule running through its final testing stages.
Visually, the G11 ALPINA B7 will retain the overall design of the new 7 Series, but with the typical ALPINA additions: a redesigned front apron with the additional spoiler lip, ALPINA-designed wheels, trunk lip and a new rear bumper.
It is likely that the new ALPINA B7 uses a completely new V8 biturbo – an enhanced version of the N63 engine from the G11 BMW 750i. In standard form, the engine makes 450 horsepower, but with the ALPINA tuning kit and engineering, it’s expected to make over 540 horsepower and accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 4.3 seconds. An all-wheel drive system will be offered as well.
The new BMW ALPINA B7 promises the ultimate exclusivity and individuality inside the cabin, so we expect to see highly-refined leather and unique wood trims.
Just like its predecessors, the G11 B7 will be able to easily reach above 300 km/h.
