The June premium cars sales numbers are in and BMW takes the lead ahead of Mercedes-Benz. BMW sales reached 32,176, up 6.5%. Mercedes sales were up 5.8% to 28.044 units. For the first half of the year, BMW sales rose 7.1% to 168,623. Mercedes sales for the same period were 164,970, a 8.8% improvement. BMW holds a 3,653-vehicle lead over Mercedes.

Audi comes third with an 11 percent sales boost to 93,615 units. Audi’s sales improved by 8.3 percent to 18,262 deliveries in June.

BMW’s sales were aided by the 3 Series while Mercedes’ CLA class brought impressive sales numbers as well. BMW was led for the month by increases of 69 percent for the 4 series cars and 89 percent for the X5 SUV. Sales of Mercedes’s entry-level models, the CLA- and C-class cars, each grew more than 40 percent, and the new GLA small SUV added 2,177 deliveries.

Toyota’s Lexus reported an 11 percent increase last month to 26,121. For the year, Lexus deliveries have climbed 15 percent to 158,848.

    BMW is really coming back to the top recently. First we’ve seen the incredible jump they’ve made on the JD Power reliability survey’s ladder. Then we saw all the tech they are putting in their cars, with the brilliants i models, but also the 7 and all its new features, with some world first, and yesterdays the concepts with more CFRP, and Hydrogen Vehicles. And now, their sales are increasing again and again, beating the two others on the US soil.
    But with Audi launching its new cars, Jaguar coming stronger than ever before with incredible new models, quality, design, and reliability, and Maserati/Alfa being back on the scene with new cars, they better keep working hard !
