Automotive News reports that Mercedes-Benz has poached a BMW executive responsible for the successful ConnectedDrive system.

Sajjad Khan vice-president at BMW responsible for developing more “intelligent” cars, which use Internet connectivity to help drivers with decisions about which route to take or where to find parking.

Khan had previously worked for DaimlerChrysler in 2001, working in the field of infotainment and materials purchasing, before moving to Magna in 2007 and BMW Group in 2011.

BMW takes pride in their latest car tech with in-car Internet connection opening the door to real-time traffic navigation, intelligent fleet management, car-sharing and autonomous driving.

A spokesman for Daimler said Khan had started work at Daimler in March.

    Their system is so bad, maybe they can improve it with him, becaus it cant get worse :D

    I don’t understand how a company like BMW would not put in a a restrain of trade in contracts of key employees like that. So now all BMW trade secrets relating to Connected Drive tech will now be copied by Mercedes.
