According to a new, speculative report, BMW is preparing to launch an M version of the popular 7 Series luxury sedan. The rumors were released on the interwebs by the German folks at Autobild and were further reinforced by a customer report who had the chance to see the new 7 Series at a private event. The very same customer mentioned that the M7 name was thrown around at that VIP event.
Today, we have a new rendering showcasing what the M7 could look like.
The design is said to be based on new G11/G12 7 Series with large air intakes in the front apron, side skirts, a rear diffuser and exhaust system from the M5 and M6 Gran Coupe.
Our sources say that the outgoing BMW CEO Dr. Norbert Reithofer has been an opponent of the M7, yet if the car arrives next year under the new CEO, the M7 would still be considered Reithofer’s legacy.
If it arrives in 2017, the price of the M7 is expected to be at about 140,000 euros.
