The upcoming BMW M2 continues its testing at the Nurburgring race track. The short clip gives us a fairly close look at the M2 running through the corners at high speeds and showing an impressive stance on the track.
The M2 prototype sports the same aggressive front end we’ve seen before, with large air intakes and a sporty bumper, a rear end with some impressive flares and full LED headlights and taillights. Just last month, the M2 was spotted with shifting paddles, indicating a DCT box. A manual transmission will be offered as well.
Our sources (not the usual BMW insider Scott27) say the number of units to be produced is between 10,000-11,000 for the world.
The new M2 will inherit the M3/M4 suspension and rear differential. The car will also sport M side vents and lightweight materials to keep the weight below the M235i. Under the hood, the F87 M2 will use an updated version of the N55 TwinPower 3.0 liter engine (N55B30T0) with 360 horsepower.
Our sources say the base price in the U.S. should fall below $50,000.
