The $200,000 SUV market is getting ready to host some of the most amazing high-end trucks ever built, from Ranger Rover to Mercedes, Bentley and Lamborghini, the niche segment will offer a variety of choices in the next few years.

At the end of the spectrum, with a rumored price around $400,000, we have the Rolls Royce SUV which will try to lure new customer to the brand. The new Rolls Royce SUV is still a way out before its market debut in 2018, but the British luxury automaker wastes no time in the development process. The company unveiled last week the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, their first public test mule used for chassis development.

The company has not given us any design clues, so many wonder whether the RR SUV will be a two box shape like the X5 or more coupe, like the X6, or perhaps a proportionally correct 7er GT? Rendering artist Frans Grutters takes a stab at illustration the future Rolls Royce SUV, in both standard form and a long-wheelbase edition.

The British automaker aims for a market launch in 2018 and likely a concept unveil in 2016. Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, and Maserati Levante are also slated for production in 2017, 2018, and beyond.

Even though not confirmed, we expect the Rolls Royce SUV to feature a V12 engine, which provides the necessary propulsion with well over 500 hp. At least as important as the resulting performance is likely to be the exclusivity of the twelve-cylinder engine in the off-road segment.
