The 2016 BMW 7 Series is becoming less of mystery as the days pass before its official unveil this summer. This latest photo “leaks” the speedometer display and the steering wheel found in the new 7er.
The photo was briefly posted on Instagram before it was taken down by the uploader.
In the image, you can see the steering wheel and the speedometer display of the BMW G11 7 Series in their full glory. Particularly striking are the large chrome elements on the struts of the multifunction steering wheel and the new multi-function display speedometer and tachometer.
Obviously a large part of the speedometer instrument is purely digital, but some areas such as the velocity scale and the tachometer seem to be designed as a classic round analogue instrument.
It is clear that the digitally implemented parts of the speedometer change based on the driving modes. The photo we see here displays the information related to the Sport Mode.
What are the advantages of the hybrid solution with digital and analogue display? Munich is likely to explain to us in the next few weeks.
