The upcoming BMW M2 was spotted once again near the Nurburgring track in Germany. For the first time, the M2 prototype sports the Valencia Orange color which once used to be an exclusive paint for the 1M.
The spy shots reveal an aggressive front end, with large air intakes and a sporty bumper, a rear end with some impressive flares and full LED headlights and taillights. Just last month, the M2 was spotted with shifting paddles, indicating a DCT box. A manual transmission is likely to be offered as well. Interesting enough though is the fact that this prototype doesn’t have the dual-twin exhaust.
Just like the 1M, the new M2 will inherit the M3/M4 suspension and rear differential. The car will also sport M side vents and lightweight materials to keep the weight below the M235i.
If these features end up on the production car, then the M2 with a base price of around $50,000, might be just the perfect toss-around car on the market.
Under the hood, we believe the F87 M2 will use an updated version of the N55 TwinPower 3.0 liter engine (N55B30T0) with 360-370 horsepower.
The BMW M2 has a production date of November, 15, 2015 with first deliveries taking place in March 2016.
