German media is reporting that yesterday, a BMW 7 Series prototype collided with a police vehicle in Stuttgart, Germany. The police report says that four people were slightly injured and the total damage is likely to be around 150,000 euros.

A 30-year-old police officer, who was driving his Mercedes Sprinter with blue lights and sirens, responded to an emergency callout, reached a red light at an intersection where it then collided with the 7 Series. The BMW prototype was carrying the typical black and white camouflage.

From the impact, the Sprinter hurled up against the curb and came down on its left side.

I would think it would be way more than €150k – that’s the price of a production 7-series. prototypes are a million+

    • Ofentse Letsholo says:

What actually costs more on the prototype is the engineering part, the time consumed to engineer new material not the material itself.
