Recently, the journalists at Top Gear took the refreshed BMW M135i for a test drive in Portugal. In their report, they call the new M135i “The refreshed version of a modern cult.” And we can’t agree more.

The facelifted version of the highly popular BMW M135i now has the looks to go with the performance put down by the potent 3.0 liter inline-six.  The N55 turbocharged inline-six making 315 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Good enough to take you to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds.

Here is an excerpt from their review:

“Then you probably don’t value your licence or rear tyres. Still, if hooning’s your thing the M135i still isn’t the finished article. Partly because it wrenches huge grip from the road thanks to equal weight distribution and its inherent balance, so it needs plenty of provocation. And partly because you get an open rear differential as standard, so the inside rear wheel spins under power in a bend, rather than the whole axle overspeeding to kick the tail out.”

It seems that BMW M135i still puts down impressive performance, gripping the road and hugging those bends like a champ in every way. Our full review will follow shortly, but until then, take a look at the Top Gear impressions of the BMW M135i and see how they liked the small sports car.
