There is no secret anymore that the new BMW i8 is selling above its sticker price, and that trend, doesn’t seem to stop, but rather increase. This is probably due to high demand and low production numbers that currently are churned out by the Leipzig plant.
Despite the high price tag, the numbers of i8 models available for sale on marketplace is still quite low. The folks over at Dupont Registry have just listed a Crystal White Frozen Gray BMW i8 but with no pricing mentioned.
Back in 2013, when BMW i8 was revealed at the IAA Frankfurt, it was showcased in Protonic Blue, Crystal White, Ionic Silver and Sophisto Grey. These four colors actually rounded out the initial colors available for the i8, which were directed at US showrooms in Spring 2014 at a starting price of $135,700 (plus destination and handling).
This Crystal White Frozen Gray i8 comes with mega carum spice combined with grey interior. It develops 266 kW/362 hp (max. torque: 570 Nm / 420 lb-ft) and it achieves an acceleration of 0 – 100 km/h / 62 mph in 4.4 seconds. This is combined with a stunning fuel economy of EU fuel consumption of 2.5 litres per 100 km or 94 mpg (US). It’s truly a glimpse into the future of green, sporty vehicles.
