We recently wrote about the Stormtrooper project by Vilner, a BMW M6 Convertible that comes with a heavilly modified exterior and a completely redone interior.
Today we can finally show you the finished product – a Star Wars inspired M6 that you will definitely like in one way or another. Even though we are not sure whether the naming is completely in lie with what George Lucas had in mind.
The build features an extravagant, but nicely accomplished widebody that gives a different look to the BMW M6 Convertible.
You will notice design cues from several new BMW models, most prominently the front fascia similar to that of a BMW i8. It also features strong and aggressive body lines, perfectly working with the elongated outer body of the M6 and making the vehicle appear even more beefy than ever. The complete makeover includes new front and rear fenders and bumpers, hood, the entire fascia, boot, side skirts and the fabric top together with a set of 20-inch wheels. These are done in a two-tone combination, utilizing black and white where the multispoke concave configuration and design does work nicely with the white exterior.
The tuning company also redid the entire interior, a gorgeous showcase of custom work, all done by utilizing Nappa leather and brown Alcantara along with tinted brown carbon trim elements. The lighter brown used on the interior is a simple and elegant combination, which goes hand in hand with the shiny white exterior as well.
As far as the performance department goes, nothing Vilner has to report on that part. It is still powered by the same 5.0 L V10 S85 engine and SMG III gearbox that and produces 373 kW (500 hp) and 520 N·m (380 lb·ft). This allows the 4,420 lb (2,000 kg) vehicle to get from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 4.4 seconds. Road & Track (Feb 2006) measured the 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) time as 4.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Feel free to take a look at the build Vilner did right below in our gallery and let us know what you think of it.
