Crossing Deals Gap at the Tennessee/North Carolina state line is the Tail of the Dragon. The road is considered by many as one of the world’s foremost motorcycling and sports car roads. Anyone looking for an exciting highway will enjoy this 11-mile stretch of US129. At the same time, it is also one of the most dangerous roads you can drive on in the U.S. so approaching the twisties should always be done with caution.
There are no intersecting roads, no houses with driveways and pretty much nothing around it. Each and every curve is different. There is very little elevation change. And many of the curves are banked like a race track.
Unfortunately, almost every year there is a fatality on it.
Therefore, seeing Matt “Live Life Flat Out” Brandenburg in his Brakim Racing neon-green E36 M3 making a very sideways run on North Carolina’s famous road makes us appreciate his driving skills.[Source: Jalopnik]
