Where you may be deceived by the Safety Car of Moto GP decals, this is in fact a BMW M4 GTS caught testing on a racetrack in Europe. Giving it away are things like the bigger chin spoiler and a rear wing. Rumors around a BMW M4 GTS surfaced earlier this year when BMW M executives hinted at future M4-inspired models.
It remains unknown if the BMW M4 GTS will run in limited units and whether it will only be available in Europe.
In the spy photos, you will notice a set of Recaro seats inside, somewhat enlarged front openings masked by the well familiar spy shot wrap and some differently sized exhaust pipes in the rear. The power output is simply speculative at this point, but we certainly expect to see more ponies than the “regular M4” under the hood. We will probably see a lot of weight reduction, reduced comfort apparatus like air conditioning, audio system and a more opened up exhaust. All of these will serve the purpose of making the BMW M4 GTS a track ready vehicle that suits better their owners and their driving style.
Furthermore you will notice ceramic brakes on this particular test mule, something we’ve grown accustomed to seeing on high-performance cars.
Hopefully the BMW M4 GTS will be homologated for the North American market, bringing joy to potential owners in United States and Canada as well. Judging by the images of the car seen testing on the racetrack, the production model is probably really close to being revealed.
