For quite some time now we have heard that the upcoming 2015 BMW X5 M will use an upgraded version of the already powerful S63Tü V8 twin-turbo engine from the F10 BMW M5. We have learned initially than the new engine will produce certainly more than 560 horsepower but recent reports put the actual output value close to 600 horsepower.
The F85 X5 M will launch in Spring 2015 and comes with large air intakes, wider bodykit, rear diffuser and blue calipers M brakes. At the rear end, the F15 X5M features the typical quad exhaust pipes. The test mule also showcases headlights that now flow into the 3D kidney grille.
The chassis has been heavily tweaked by the M engineers in Garching and it should deliver a better track and road experience than its predecessor.
In addition to increased performance, the vehicles should offer better gas mileage thanks to weight savings brought about by the new chassis.
Base price in the U.S. should be above $90,000.
