A group of Romanian journalists headed to Austria to test drive the new BMW i3 and instead of focusing on just the driving experience, they decided to test out some of the unique features of the i3.

One of them is the Parking Assistant feature. The $1,000 Parking Package, with a push of a button using ultrasonic sensors, will park the i3 in a spot with as little as 22 inches of extra space.

The i3 completes the procedure without any driver input on gas or braking.

To make the video even more interesting, the driver courageously jumps out of the car and simply puts his faith in the car’s ability to perfectly park itself.

Let’s have a look.

The curious driver is a romanian racing driver, Vali Porcisteanu

      Cool dude it seems!

That was pretty cool, still I’d rather be in the car just in case. You can’t quite trust voice commands to get your navigation, and infotainment selections right so I wouldn’t want to trust park assist completely.

    Interesting approach
