To find out, Automobile Magazine went to Gingerman Raceway.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 460-horsepower and reaching 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds (4.1 with 1 foot of rollout as on a drag strip) and clears the quarter-mile in 12.4 seconds at 113.7 mph.
Powering the new M3/M4 is an all new, 3.0 liter twin turbocharged in-line six cylinder twisting out a whopping 431 hp, 406 ft-lbs of torque. Sometimes it’s hard to tell how many turbos a BMW has with their liberal use of “TwinPower Turbo” which can refer to a twin-scroll turbo or two turbos, but M3/M4 has two actual turbos. 0-100 km/hr comes in 4.1 seconds when equipped with the third generation M Double Clutch Transmission.
“The 2015 BMW M4 is an incredible car. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is equally incredible. And that realization, that a Kentucky-built icon can stack up to Munich’s legend, is the most incredible thing of all.”
