Later this summer, BMW will unveil the 2015 2 Series Convertible. The open top version of the 2 Series will join the coupe model in the newly formed BMW family.
The F23 BMW 2 Series cabrio is built exactly like the previously offered 1 Series Convertible will make use of a soft roof top.
The design cues of the cabriolet are similar to the coupe so no major surprises are expected. We expect the 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible to debut later this year – at a premium of several thousand dollars above the 2 Series coupe.
Engine lineup will be taken over from its fixed roof sibling so we expect to see a 228i Cabriolet, 220i and 220d, at least for the market launch. BMW will also unveil the M235i Convertible which just like the M235i Coupe will be powered by the 3.0 liter inline-six turbocharged engine producing 322 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The M235i Convertible should be capable of 0-60 in 4.8 seconds when optioned with the 8-speed sport automatic.
