If anyone doubted that a BMW M2 is in works, then the following video comes to confirm the upcoming M model. A BMW M2 prototype was filmed during a testing session at Nurburgring.
Under the hood, the BMW M2 will run an updated version of the N55 TwinPower 3.0 liter engine (N55B30T0) producing anywhere from 360 to 380, and around 350 lb-ft of torque, leaving enough space to the 425 hp from the new BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe.
The M2 will sport typical M front-end design, a carbon fiber roof, flared wheel arches and wider track than the 2 Series Coupe. Not shown in the rendering above, but expected to see in the final design is a rear spoiler and the signature M four-exhaust pipes.
The video below shows the M2 prototype with the exhaust system from M235i.
BMW M2 is scheduled to launch in late 2015 or early 2016.
