The folks at Autoblog.nl are taking the BMW M4 Coupe for some drifting sessions. The first press drives took place this month in Portugal and BMWBLOG had some fun of its own with the M3 and M4 on the race track.

We have also just published a video with Albert Biermann, Head of BMW M Engineering, who explains why the new M3 and M4 are so much fun on the track.

Just a quick recap on the engine before we jump into drifting video:

The new M3 and M4 use a 3.0 liter turbocharged engine that produces 425 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. The car weighs under 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs). From 0-100 km/h (0-62), the 2014 BMW M4 runs in 4.1 seconds with DCT while the M3 runs the same distance in 4.3 seconds, with the same transmission.
