The upcoming F16 BMW X6 was spotted in Munich sporting little camouflage. The F16 BMW X6 will make its debut this summer at the 2014 Moscow Auto Show and will go on sale later this year.
The F16 X6 is built atop the F15 BMW X5 platform and it imports some of its design features as well. The new headlights of the F16 X6 are now connected to the kidney grille, a larger kidney grilles than the outgoing model. It also features a “shark nose” and side air breathers.
The F16 X6 has also grown in size, rising from 4877mm to around 4910mm. Interior space is increased as well, offering more headroom for passengers as well. BMW will offer the X6 with a choice between bucket seats and a bench in the rear.
The coupe-like roofline flows nicely into the aggressive and elegant trunk, giving the Sports Activity Coupe a sleeker look when compared to the current generation X6.
Power is likely to come from a new range of twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel and tri-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engines, as well as a selection of upgraded 4.4-litre V8 petrol. A hybrid 2015 BMW X6 version, combining the 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, is also in development.
Base models will stick with a conventional suspension design with steel springs, while high-end models will get a self-leveling pneumatic suspension with adjustable ride control.
Buyers of course will still be able to opt for xDrive all-wheel drive.
