Ahead of its New York Auto Show debut, the 2015 BMW X4 was spotted near the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. Spy photographer Palbay managed to snap some shots of a Sophisto Grey X4 xDrive30d, most likely an European model.

The color palette is pretty standard on the X4, similar to the other X-models. The second Sports Activity Coupe can be ordered in Mineral White, Glacier Silver, Mineral Silver, Melbourne Red, Deep Sea Blue, Sophisto Grey, Sparkling Brown, Black Sapphire, Alpine White and Black.

Inside the cabin, customers also have a wide selection of trims and leathers to choose from. It can also be ordered with two pre-defined packages, xLine ($1000 for xDrive35i and $1500 for xDrive35i) and M Sport ($1900 for xDrive35i and $2300 for xDrive35i).

The following packages are also offered:

  • Cold Weather Package – $950
  • Driver Assistance Package – $700
  • Drive Assistance Plus – $1900
  • Lighting Package – $1900
  • Premium Package – $2200
  • Technology Package – $3150

Since the X4 is built at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, European Delivery is not offered.

In the US, the X4 will be offered with a choice of two TwinPower Turbo engines. The X4 xDrive28i, with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $45,625 (including destination and handling), will feature the 240 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder engine while the top-of-line X4 xDrive35i, with an MSRP of $48,925 (including destination and handling) will output 306 hp.

In Europe the 258-hp BMW X4 xDrive30d costs a minimum of 55,100 euros.

It is really beautifull. Just too bad they did not announce a Plug in Hybrid model with a decent more than 25KWH battery right on Day 1, to position this as a real “car of the future”, and allow me to buy one this year within my 60K€ budget hopefully.
If Audi does it right on its Q4/TT Allroad, I may move to Audi, after 20 years with (new) BMW cars, from 3 Series to current beloved 530DA…

I know, but I have a feeling they might offer it eventually

They said may be next year and likely with good-for-nothing <10KWH battery, and likely at ridiculous prices well above my budget… I'm loosing faith to be franc. I leave in Paris, my understanding is none of the X4 models announced yet for Europe will be allowed to drive in Paris core center area within a year or two, now the Green were re-elected at the townhall last month…

        • Horatiu B. says:

That’s too bad, I guess Paris follows London in that matter. Not even a super efficient X4 20d?

          • Freepat 75014 says:

Not 100% sure for this one…. May be, but who wants that in an X4 ? Greens hate the SUVs that I decided would be my next car … My bet is unless a Plug in Hybrid it will not be allowed in, if an SUV.

This said, if BMW could do a Plug in Hybrid X6 this year within my 60K€ budget it could work too, but bet if an eDrive X6 comes end of this year, they will price it > 100K€ even if set again with ridiculous <10KWH battery… So no hope.

          • Horatiu B. says:

Yeah, that’s too bad. But you never know with BMW.
