BMWBLOG has just learned that BMW will announce today the introduction of a new X-model, the BMW X7, the very same large SUV that was canceled a few years back. The car would compete with the also planned Q9 Audi, Mercedes-Benz GL and VW Cross Blue, which is built in the US.

The announcement will take place at the Spartanburg plant where BMW has an impressive lineup of executives and board members.

Our sources say that the new BMW X7 will come to market in late 2017 and will be built upon the new car architecture that BMW announced recently.

The large premium SUV will come with a full third-row seat and will share many of its components with other X models.

Early projections put the sales of the BMW X7 between 40,000 and 50,000 units a year.
