Road and Track publishes a top 13 cars that one should buy with less than $100,000.
The six-figure price point usually offers many options, and one with money to spare can have a hard time choosing the right vehicle. The list below includes some of the usual suspects, such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S and Panamera S, Mercedes-Benz S550, Audi S7 and everyone’s darling the Tesla S.
But which BMW made the list? The 2014 BMW M5, M’s division iconic sporty sedan that it is now in its fifth generation.
The 2014 BMW M5 is powered by a high-revving 4.4-liter turbocharged unit that uses the BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine outputs 560 horsepower from 5,750-7,000 rpm and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque from only 1500rpm. It comes in both manual and 7-speed DCT transmission.
The new engine produces around 10% higher output than the V10 engine of its predecessors and torque is up by over 30%. At the same time, real world fuel consumption and CO2 are reduced by approximately 30%.
The base price of the F10 M5 is $90,695.
