The 2015 BMW X6 was spied once again. Along with the spy video, we also have a rendering of what the second-generation X6 might look like.
The second generation X6 Sports Activity Coupe will be unveiled in late 2014 and it is built on the new F15 BMW X5 platform.
Proven to be successful in markets like the Middle East and Russia, the new BMW X6 builds atop the design of the first generation. The F16 BMW X6 will feature the same coupe-like roofline but this time with an overall more aggressive and dynamics design. The Munich-based automaker aims to further differentiate their X models.
Since it uses the same platform as the F15 X5, the 2015 X6 is slightly longer to provide additional rear legroom. A source says that the new X6 will grow from 4877mm to about 4910mm. The car will also have a wider track and longer wheelbase.
Power is likely to come from a new range of twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel and tri-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engines, as well as a selection of upgraded 4.4-litre V8 petrol for both standard and M division cars. A hybrid version, combining the 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, is also in development.
