Today BMW enters a new era. The launch of the BMW 2 Series family of cars represents a new step for the Munich-based automaker in differentiating between their core products. Just like the 4 Series family, the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible will be sold under a different moniker than the 1 Series Hatchback.

So now that the price of the 2 is, as I anticipated, increased over the 1 series and now equal to that of the 320i, do you think that the 320i will get a price bump to close that several thousand dollar gap between the 320i and 328i or do you think that it will stay as it is, as basically a four door alternative for potential 2 series customers?

Separate note, I was off in my estimates of pricing in regards to the i8 prior to the official release.

it’s sleeker than the e82 and has a nice stance.

i don’t like: the cut line on the hood, the bulbous rear bumper in
profile, non-body colored side mirrors, and the over-buttoned steering
    wheel.

and will carbon buildup be an issue with these direct injection engines?
