The first ever BMW 2 Series Coupe will be presented on Oct. 25th. You can see the first trailer here.
The F22 2 Series Coupe is closely related to the current generation F20/F21 1 Series, which implies the use of a rear-wheel drive architecture and in some cases, an all-wheel drive system.
The engine range will be expanded over time and eventually reflect in large part the same powerplant units as the 1 Series, so expect to see 220d, 218i or 225i models. At the top of the line-up, the M Performance Automobiles sub-division will take over with two high-performance 2 Series models: M235i and M235i xDrive.
Under the hood the high-end M235i sports a 3.0 liter six-cylinder N55 TwinPower engine which also outputs 450 NM of torque between 1300 and 4500 RPM. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
From 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h), the BMW M235i with manual transmission runs in 5.0 seconds while the 8-speed automatic is 4.8 seconds.
The M235i has a lenght of 4454 mm, measures 1774 in width and 1408 in height. The wheelbase is 2690 mm, Track, Front 1516 mm, Track Rear 1532 mm.
It weighs 1455 kg with the manual transmission and 1470 with automatic.
