The small electric vehicle BMW i3 is offered with three unique trim levels labeled as “Worlds”. The base BMW i3 is called Mega World, followed by Giga World and Tera World.

Just like the conventional BMW models, the new BMW i3 can also be ordered with pre-defined packages.

Here are the options and features of the three packages:

i3 Mega World: Standard 19-inch wheels; navigation; BMW ConnectedDrive; 7.4-kW on-board charger; LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights; and “Sensatec” and sustainable cloth interior trimmings. A leather-trimmed steering wheel is also included, but the capacity to overcome the guilt drawn from needlessly killing an animal for steering-wheel embellishment is not.

i3 Giga World: adds Giga-specific 19-inch wheels; leather- and wool cloth–wrapped interior; decadent contrasting stitching for the leather-wrapped steering wheel; universal garage-door opener; keyless access; a sunroof; and satellite radio.

i3 Tera World: adds Tera-specific 19-inch wheels, full-leather interior, textile accents with contrasting stitching, and anthracite floor mats.

Interesting. Euro i3s get less standard equipment. There’s a base cloth interior that saves 1500€ compared to the one offered in “Mega World” LED headlights are not standard. And the “comfort pack” (multifunction steering wheel, auto-dimming mirrors, armrest, rain sensor, auto headlights, cruise control) that is standard on American cars is a 1990€ option.
Oh, and we don’t get trim levels, and therefore also no GigaTeraMega world naming.

I’m finding it a bit strange that each trim level has only one set color interior, I like all three and am leaning towards Tera, but I also like the Giga. I hope I get the chance to see the interiors before I make my final decision.
