Chinese spies are giving us an early look at the interior design and sport seats of the upcoming BMW M3 and BMW M4. Most likely this is still a pre-production design, but the expectations are that most of the design features will stay.

The sport seats are wrapped up in leather and they feature an ///M emblem below the headrest. Carbon fiber elements and trim seem to be missing from these shots, but without a doubt the final production version will have plenty of CF inserts.

The prototype also comes with the Seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Launch Control. The new gearbox works a lot more quietly than before and blips the throttle on downshifts. This engagement speed control function helps to enhance stability and was originally developed by motor sport engineers.

On top of the dashboard lays a floating LCD screen which will display all the iDrive functions. An M Head-Up display is offered as well.

Under the hood, both the F80 M3 and F82 M4 feature a high-revving six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology newly developed for the new BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Coupe produces maximum output of approximately 430 hp. Its peak torqueicon1 BMW M3 and BMW M4 Seats and Interior Design soars far beyond 500 Newton meters (369 lb-ft), out stripping the figures recorded by the outgoing BMW M3 by well over 30 per cent.

The weight of the cars has been reduced to just under 1,500 kilograms, which helps to ensure outstanding driving dynamics and exceptional efficiency.

BMW M3 and M4 will debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

      Figure of speech.

A bit dull and the metal badge is terrible – they need to look at an Audi RS model and copy those seats!

Tailights appear to be halogen like in a regular 3 series – lame. Also, why no LED headlights? I like the weight reduction though. Can’t wait for this car to come out.
