Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH was an aircraft engine manufacturer in Germany and after a series of mergers and changes, on 21 July 1917, Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH was renamed Bayerische Motorenwerke GmbH, or short, BMW.

Karl Rapp and Julius Auspitzer are the foundrs of Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH, and to pay tribute to the company and its founders, a rendering artist named Dejan Hristov created some renderings to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary.

BMW Rapp Concept builds atop the BMW Vision ConnectedDrive study revealed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The renderings show a concept that retains the core elements of a high-end roadster, with dynamic lines and innovation imprinted all-over.

A connoisseur, Dejan Hristov has tried in his BMW Rapp to interpret BMW iconic design elements and combine them into a harmonious way. The front-end is dominated by powerful kidneys with a pronounced shark nose that give the car an aggressive look. The extremely narrow headlights give the impression of a supercar, and the large air intakes just emphasize its sportiness.

Behind the front wheels, the Rapp Concept carries the typical gills that play an important role in both earlier and in today’s BMW roadsters. The strongly molded rear wheel arches accentuate the rear-wheel drive and create space for big wheels.

At the rear, a small trunk with a spoiler and the diffuser help with downforce. One should also remark the extremely narrow taillights and tailpipes.

According to Hristov, “The basic idea was to embrace the history of BMW [by] making this concept represent everything that BMW stands for as a company.”
