The fourth day of 2013 One Lap of America offered a new experience for the most One Lap competitors; NOLA Motosports Park, just 30 minutes outside New Orleans is an impressive 2.8 mile new track with amazing facilities including a kart track and conference facilities. The staff are first class and really did everything they could to make us welcome.
The battle for Luxury Class honors continued between the Schauts in their 650hp E90 M3 and us, with Mike just easing out a win in the morning, and Ben returning the favor in the second session. Behind us the Robin and Richard continue to fight for third place with Bill Treffert and Andrew Myers in their Porsche Panamera Turbo.
NOLA-BMW
After NOLA we headed east towards Daytona and made good time along I-10, but a decision to take a diagonal route to Daytona rather than staying on the interstate to Jacksonville cost us some time as the state highways were lined with deer munching grass by the side of the road. We wondered if the grass really tasted better along the road, or they were just waiting to commit suicide and jump in front of an oncoming vehicle! We eventually arrived at our Holiday Inn around 12:30am.
