Just a few days ago we spied the 2014 BMW X5 showing its rear-end design, including the tailgate and LED taillights. New photos emerge today from Sweden and we have a closer look at the LED corona rings that will be available most likely as an option on the lower end models, and potentially standard on high-end offerings. The cool looking lights are similar to those seen on the 5 or 6 Series models, with a more squarish shape than the traditional double round headlights. A camouflaged illuminated eyebrow can be seen as well.
The F15 BMW X5 will be available starting at launch with the M Sport Package, Luxury Line and XLINE. The interior is especially designed with the Chinese customers in mind which implies an even more luxurious cabin and many options for customization. The use of the latest infotainment technology such as the new 3D iDrive, the iDrive touch controller and the multi-functional instrument display is a fairly common practice in the premium SUV segment.
Under the hood we will see four and six-cylinder engines, turbocharged, in both petrol and diesel. For the first time, BMW will offer the X5 with a rear-wheel drive configuration and it will be dubbed sDrive35i.
While we initially we believed that the F15 X5 will debut next month at New York Auto Show, the debut is likely to occur later this summer with the first U.S. appearance at the LA Auto Show in November.
