TheFastLaneCar tested the 2013 BMW X5 xDrive35i, one of BMW’s most popular car and our choice in the X5 family. The car tested is not just the “regular” X5 35i but rather one equipped with M Sport and Performance Package.

The most significant update for the 2013 BMW X5 is the M Performance Package, available on X5 xDrive35i and xDrive50i (with M Sport Package) models. The sporty package adds 15 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque to the 35i model, and 40 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque to the X5 50i.

Therefore the 3.0-liter turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine of the xDrive35 now produces 315 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque.

In this TFLcar video review we see just how much the M packages increases horsepower by testing the X5 from 0-60 MPH at 1 mile above sea level.

0-100kmh 7.8 seconds? Simply idiotic and too slow. Nothing to boast about.

It is impressive considering the tiny size of the engine and the enormous weight of the car.

And how would you call this: the new SQ5 with 354hp gets from 0 to 100kmh in just 5.3 seconds? Just another humiliation from BMW.

One must be absolutely drunk to compare BMW to Audi. We all know that Audi is far superior to BMW with any respect. I say it as a BMW fan. Just recently my 535i F10 was easily ruined by an A6 3.0TFSI.

Since when does an X5 and a Q5 compare?
The Q5 weighs less like an X3, so it will be much faster with that HP.

        • Really?

Seriously? Comparing the sportiest and most expensive small SUV Audi makes (that is not even on sale yet) to the slowerst and cheapest big SUV BMW makes, and the one really long in the tooth as well. It’s like comparing SQ5 to a GTR – stupid and pointless. BTW, I will likely buy SQ5 for my wife, but that comment is still one of the msot stupid I’ve seen
