BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg South Carolina built a one-off E53 X5 to commemorate Independence Day back in 2006. The specially painted Stars and Stripes X5 has been on display at the Zentrum greeting all that have visited the Spartanburg plant museum since then.
Independence Day or 4th of July in the US is a celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence from England in 1776. In the US, celebrations consist of back yard barbeques, fireworks and baseball games.
Today’s Super Bild started off as a 2006 X5 4.4i, very little other than the paint scheme has been altered. The Stars and Stripes color scheme is very symbolic since the X5 is exclusively built at the US plant.
On this Independence Day, we at BMWBlog.com would like to wish all our readers in the US a safe holiday and please don’t drink and drive.
