About a year after the launch of the F30 BMW 3 Series F30, Buchloe-based automaker ALPINA is ready to launch their own version of the 3 Series. Dubbed B3 BiTurbo, the upgraded 3 Series will bring the usual ALPINA core elements, from a slightly redesigned bodystyle to impressive power output.
To tease us ahead of its 2013 Geneva Motor Show debut, a reader of our sister magazine BimmerToday, gives us a photoshop of how the B3 might look like.
The B3 will be powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, based on the current N55 twin scroll single turbo, but with two turbochargers this time. The power is said to be around 420 horsepower, just above the level of the current BMW ALPINA B3 Biturbo S (E90, E91, E92, E93).
Just as with the previous generation, the B3 customers will be given the choice of having a rear-wheel drive setup with adaptive suspension.
It is also certain that the diesel D3 BiTurbo will also get a successor, and it’s fair to assume that power will be at least 230 horsepower from a four-cylinder turbo diesel.
More information will be released later this year.
