Steve Sutcliffe explains the highs and lows of life with the BMW 1M Coupe, and does lots of drifts in Autocar’s long-term review of the “baby-M”.

The 1M is powered by the N54 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 engine. For the 1M, the turbocharger, exhaust system, and ECU have been revised to produce 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, though up to 369 pound-feet are available temporarily in overboost mode. Redline is found at 7000 rpm.

So does the 1M still live up to its fame?

    Looking at this car it seems that it’s hard to find any cons of it: It’s perfectly engineered, it’s relatively cheap for the performence, it’s a great performer, it looks really good to me (so differently than not that appealing regular 1 series coupe) and it’s pretty small so you can comfortably live with it in European cities.
